This international SCANVAC conference is organized by Harbin Institute of Technology (HIT). The previous eleven ICSS events were successfully held at Rovaniemi, Finland (1994), Reykjavik, Iceland (1997), Sapporo, Japan (2000), Trondheim, Norway (2003), Moscow, Russia (2006), Greenland, Denmark (2009), Calgary, Canada (2012), Dalian, China (2015), Kiruna, Sweden (2018), Tallinn, Estonia (2021, online), Anchorage, America (2023). Following this trend, ICSS 2023 will be held in Harbin, which is a provincial capital city in Heilongjiang Province.
The conference organizer is Harbin Institute of Technology, hosted by the School of Architecture and Design. Harbin Institute of Technology (HIT), located in Harbin, China, is a national key university and is known as the ‘cradle of engineers’. The Heating, Gas, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Engineering program has a long history at HIT, dating back as far as 1949 in the direction of heating and ventilation, and is fully developed in the areas of district heating, air conditioning and refrigeration, and gas transmission and distribution.
